Rev. Austin Vetter arrived July 1, 2008, at St. Leo’s Parish in Minot as the eleventh resident pastor of St. Leo’s.  Father Vetter also has assumed the duties of director of continuing education for clergy in the diocese.
            He was born Sept. 13, 1967, at Linton, the youngest of ten children of August and Loretta Vetter. After graduation from Linton High School, he attended North Dakota State University and Cardinal Muench Seminary in Fargo, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy. He received his theology training at the Pontifical North American College in Rome. He was ordained on June 29, 1993, at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck, by Bishop John F. Kinney.

            Rev. Justin Waltz, newly ordained as a priest in the diocese, has been named parochial vicar of St. Leo’s, his first assignment as a priest. Father Waltz also will serve as chaplain and instructor at Bishop Ryan High School in Minot.  A native of Bismarck, Father Waltz was born Aug. 16, 1976, a son of Theresa and Herbert Waltz. He graduated from St. Mary’s Central High School and was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit parish. He attended Cardinal Muench Seminary and went on to the Pontifical College, Josephinum, in Columbus, Ohio, for his theological training.
            He was ordained a priest on May 29, 2008, at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit by Bishop Zipfel.
